Soft Corner or Full Span: choose your doorway arch

Two shapes, with different effects

Both kits turn the upper corners of a suitable square opening into curves. The difference is how far those curves extend and how much of the original straight top remains.

Soft Corner rounds the upper corners while leaving most of the top line straight. Full Span creates a half-circle across the width of the opening. Choose the shape you want, then check whether the kit's dimensions work in your space.

Soft Corner: a smaller change to the opening

Soft Corner is a matched pair of 9 × 9 inch forms, one for each upper corner. It is the option to consider when you want to soften the doorway without turning the full top into a semicircle.

For this kit, the product page asks for wall thickness, not opening width as a size option. Check the form dimensions against your opening as well. The upper corners should be close to 90°; rounded wall edges or strongly uneven surfaces need a fit review.

Full Span: a curve across the whole doorway

Full Span is a matched left-and-right set that creates a half-circle. The current standard kit covers opening widths from 24 to 36 inches.

This kit needs two measurements: the exact width across the finished top of the opening and the smallest wall-thickness reading. A full arch changes the usable shape near the upper sides, so consider how the opening is used as well as how it looks in a photograph.

If your opening falls outside the listed range, ask about a custom fit. Do not enter a smaller measurement just to make it match an available option.

Your kit supplies the forms, not a finished doorway

The images show both the forms and an illustration of the result after installation. Your order contains the arch forms. Adhesive, joint reinforcement, surface finishing, primer and paint are separate parts of the installation process.

A clean result depends on dry-fitting the pieces and blending the seams into the wall. Allow for the drying and curing times of the finishing products you choose; the process is more than placing an arch in the opening.

These are decorative forms for suitable non-structural indoor openings. They are not a structural alteration kit. If your project involves changing the opening itself, get appropriate advice before proceeding.

Enter the actual measurements, without deductions

For either kit, take three wall-thickness readings at each upper corner and keep the smallest of all six. For Full Span, also measure horizontally across the very top after the finished header is in place.

Enter your actual readings. The configurator applies the wall-thickness finishing allowance and selects the width option where needed. Do not subtract the allowance yourself or change the doorway width.
